Features of the VIQ include -

What is involved in using the VIQ?
Step 1:
Take the FREE TRIAL. After completing the trial, your organisation's website is automatically setup (e.g. www.MyFutureCareer.com.au/viq/yourschoolname) for future use.

Step 2:
Set up your organisation's settings via your dashboard (class names, delivery mode i.e., whether you print off the report or whether the student prints off their own reports). You will be able to buy credits once your account is manually confirmed (usually around 2 business days).

Step 3:
Students (or clients) are directed to the organisation's URL (e.g. www.MyFutureCareer.com.au/viq/yourschoolname) and complete the VIQ. This is completed, either
  1. Individually in their own time (e.g., at home, parent's workplace, local library, school computers etc), or
  2. During class time when a suite of computers is available such as in the computer room or the school library

Step 4:
Either the reports are provided immediately to the users, or reports are printed off by Teachers / Career Counsellors / Year Coordinators to hand back to students in class lessons. Many schools hand back the VIQ reports to their students at a "Career Night" where parents and students meet to hear about the VIQ and careers more generally.

Step 5:
Actioning of the VIQ Report with completion of the 'Career Action Plan' (at the rear of the report) allows students to research their preferred careers and then select their subject choices for the latter years of secondary school. This can either be:
- at the student's discretion in terms of their own personal "homework" in their own time
- in class time such as during career education lessons OR
- follow a specific time-line where the Career Action Plan has to be completed (generally a week or so before interviews are conducted for subject selections for the following year).
